Big things I am thankful for:

1. My husband - Such a man. I love you more than you will ever know.
2. My children - Amazing human beings. They are gifts from God and I count every day I get to be with them as worth more than anything my own life could be.
3. My extended family - I love each and every one of you beyond measure. Especially my in-laws... What would I do without you?
4. My friends - Could anyone have a more diversive group of people as their friends? =) I count myself fortunate to be allowed to love you all. (Even my crazy liberal hippie friend who taught me everything I know about cats, and makes me the most beautiful dresses on earth.)
5. My neighbors - What a crazy wonderful group of people!
6. And pretty much everyone I have ever met... Few things are more wonderful than meeting a new friend.
7. My own life. Thank you God for moving hell and highwater to bring me into this world.
8. My animals. Those little lives are precious to me and I am thankful for each little furry, scaley, feathery, and exoskeletony (new word!) that has crossed my path.
9. So many more, but I'm baking up a storm today and that's all I can manage right now. Plus, I need to save some for my Christmas thankful list. =)

The biggest thing I am thankful for, is that Jesus died for my sins. I am a thief, a liar, a murderer (Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1John 3:15.) and I have broken every commandment in the Bible. I suppose this is a part of why I love people so much... I know in my heart of hearts that I am truly no better than anyone else, no matter who they are. Only through Jesus I am forgiven, not through any good works of my own.

Without His sacrifice I would be lost. Without His sacrifice, everything bad I have ever done would be too much, and everything good I have ever done would not be enough. Through Him the evil is wiped away, and the good has a purpose.

There is no amount of education, health, money or anything else that would make trading the peace I know through Jesus Christ worthwhile.

Little things I am thankful for:

1. I have a pair and a spare of my beloved Keds shoes.
2. I have an entire bag of M&M's just waiting to be eaten in my frig.
3 I found a quarter in my shoe this morning.
4. I have a cat with the worlds most powerful buzzer.
5. I can type 120 wpm.
6. I have the most comfortable bathtub on earth, and it's 60 years old.
7. I can laugh at myself.
8. I can laugh at my husband.
9. Air conditioning was invented.
10. I have purple fuzzy socks.

I'm going to blogexplore for awhile and I will leave a nice comment at every site I visit. I am enjoying this whole blogexplosion surfing a lot more than anticipated, and I am especially fond of the "100 things about me" lists that people are doing. Maybe I should start working on mine. =)

I had the neatest little conversation today with someone who is 99% different from me in every way. But she loves German Shepherds and we were able to talk about that and let the political stuff slide. Not only do I love people in a Christian way as my brothers and sisters, but I also generally and genuinely like people also. (Well, not the bad guys... but even people 100% different from me don't seem to like the bad guys either.)


Oh, and I'm going to make an effort to rate blogs on their writing skills, design, and informational content only... Never on whether or not I agree with their philosophy, politics, or religion.

I will however give an automatic 10 rating to anyone who posts pictures of their animals =)

I have read many articles on the UN and their infestation of perverts and degenerates (Remember that lovely Scott Ritter?). So many in fact, that I am beginning to think that the UN is not a "peace keeping" organizaton at all, but rather nothing more than a cover for sex tourism.

Does anyone else feel sort of sick that we have thousands of brave American men fighting in a war, there are millions of fathers working themselves silly to provide for their kids and teach them how to be good human beings, millions of men around the world who work in extraordinarily dangerous occupations just to put meager amounts of food in the mouths of their dear children....

And then we have these spoiled, disgusting, pampered, and just plain pathetic excuses for men I have ever seen in my life.

Someone really needs to teach these spoiled little boys how to be men. However, since so much money is involved I doubt I will see such a transformation in my lifetime.

God bless the fathers who watch over their families, the soldiers who watch over their country, and all the real men who know how to behave like real gentlemen and do the right thing no matter the cost.

I wish we could pay all of you hardworking men out there the $14 million these idiots get for playing a silly game. (And I used to really like basketball years ago... Oh well...)

I guess the lefties don't care if civilians are killed as long as it is the French doing the killing and the Africans doing the dying. If innocent civilians dying does not help their agenda, then they simply do not care.

I really love the laughter and wookie noises coming from my husband and kids right now as they continue their journey through the Knights of the old republic.

I love the snow that the storm left yesterday on the hills. It is beautiful, clean and cold.

I wish my 16 year old cat was a bit less cranky.

I wonder what my mother in law is doing right now and if she knows I'm wearing the fuzzy purple socks she sent me?

I cannot believe how blessed I am to have so many wonderful people in my life.

I wonder if that cold snap is going to injure my bouganvilla again?

I wonder if I posted a nice comment at every blog I visit on Blogexplosion if that would just be silly? =) (I do have to say that I am completely enjoying reading about everyones lives. I really and truly love people, even if we are as different as different can be. God sure knew what He was doing when He made us all unique individuals instead of robots.)

These mothers are happy that their children blow themselves to smithereens, while blowing up Israeli school buses filled with chidren just going to school. I wonder when the anti-war crowd will begin to protest these homicide bombers? Actually the answer to that is "never". It isn't "cool" to protest against islamofascists who blow up school buses. It is only "cool" to protest against American soldiers who too often get killed themselves while trying to protect the innocent. A lot of the anti-war crowd are sadly anti-Israel as well.

The god of islam demands that you and your children die for him. The God of Israel... of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, already died for all of us.

Ok... for the MILLIONTH TIME ALREADY! That's it! I've had enough!

Everyone who wants to equate the accidental deaths of children in war to the HOLOCAUST of abortion, please think for just one second, and use that big blue brain you all claim to have. First of all, why would you think that just because I support our wonderful soldiers in the war in Iraq I also support the death of children over there? That is ridiculous! Do you even know what you are saying? Or do all of you anti war people just hear a slogan and then repeat it over and over until you hear it in your sleep?

The war in Iraq is an entirely DIFFERENT thing than abortion, just like the thousands of children killed by drunk drivers every year is an entirely different thing than abortion. Ok? Got it? I don't like children being killed by abortion, but does that mean I don't care that thousands are killed by people who threw back one too many glasses of Mondavi, then got behind the wheel of their electric car? Of course not! Sheesh people! Get a grip! Oh, and the whole "if you love babies so much then why don't you stop the war? Waaaah!" this is SOOOOOOOO old and tired I can't even believe anyone still says it. Can't you people even come up with an original argument once in awhile?

If you want to discuss why or why not the war in Iraq is necessary, we can discuss that (although this is not really a military blog and I could direct you to links with more educated opinions on that particular subject matter). But there is no need to CONSTANTLY degrade the deaths of people in order to push your hatred for the President, or your "anti warishness is cool", or "American soldiers are the devil", or "all war is wrong and why can't we all just send flowers to the terrorists".

We get it ok? We understand that you wish that we never fought in World War II because some poor nazi children accidentally died. We understand that the Civil War sucked and we should have just let the slave owners continue to own people so that no innocent child would have to die in a mean nasty war. We also understand that you hate violence of any kind and when a man breaks into your house, climbs up the stairs to your daughters room and kidnaps her you get to finally use your fabulous liberal negotiating skills and "talk the pervert out of it".

That said...

Here is just another comment from someone who has most likely NEVER lost anyone in a war (I lost nearly my entire family) and believes that a few thousand deaths during a war somehow justifies the murder of 40 MILLION babies due to convenience.

First of all, we are NOT trying to kill children in Fallujah. Their parents had plenty of time to get them out (months!), but their parents decided to keep them in harms way. They try so hard to escape the instruments of death, but it is their own mothers who are killing them. The victims of abortion never get a chance to even take their first breath.

Oh yes... and why do you hate our soldiers so much that you think they are all murderers? My deceased brother was a Marine and I take GREAT offense at you claiming that American soldiers like to kill children. (And I know you in particular didn't actually "say" that, but that is what you are implying.)

I care greatly for all children and all human beings throughout the world who are killed by any means. In fact, did you know that many children die every year because of the environmentalists who banned DDT and now the poor babies in Africa die of malaria? Why don't the environmentalists care about children and bring back that very good pesticide that is harmless to humans? Do YOU care about those children? And if so when was the last time you protested against the environmentalists who did this to them, in the name of saving bird eggs? Why are bird eggs more important than the children dying in Africa???

I looked at those Fallujah pictures, and I have seen worse one's elsewhere. Have you seen the pictures of the boy who was whipped to death by the islamofascists the other day because he ate food??? Ugly picture huh? How about the pictures of the murder of Van Gogh, or the men and women whose heads were sawed off by the islamists? Or the people that jumped from the buildings on September 11? Or the women who had acid poured on their faces, or were stoned to death? Did you see those pictures?

At least those children in Iraq had a chance to live. In America there have been 40 million children murdered by their mothers before even getting a chance to breathe. If you care about saving babies then please look at these pictures.

Useless factoid:
I grew up in a house that was decorated by my mother in those fabulous 70's colors of orange and green. She always had tangerine orange rugs and celery green draperies (And golden yellow and avocado green appliances!) I swore up and down that I would NEVER have those colors in my house. Well, lo and behold now that I am an old married woman I actually like orange and green. Although, I still will never have an "orange and green" livingroom.

MY livingroom is peach and forrest green. NOTHING like the tangerine and celery of my mothers house! =)

It's a rainy day, the kids are playing Knights of the old republic with their dad, all the animals are curled up and asleep, and I'm a tad under the weather. So, it sounds like a perfect time to mess with my blog and try to change the template! =)

U.S.Marines were fired upon by snipers and insurgents armed with rocket-propelled grenades from a mosque and an adjacent building. The Marines returned fire with tank shells and machine guns.

They eventually stormed the mosque, killing 10 insurgents and wounding five others, and showing a cache of rifles and grenades for journalists.

The Marines told the pool reporter that the wounded insurgents would be left behind for others to pick up and move to the rear for treatment. But Saturday, another squad of Marines found that the mosque had been reoccupied by insurgents and attacked it again.

Four of the insurgents appeared to have been shot again in Saturday's fighting, and one of them appeared to be dead, according to the pool report. In the video, a Marine was seen noticing that one of the insurgents appeared to be breathing.

A Marine approached one of the men in the mosque saying, "He's [expletive] faking he's dead. He's faking he's [expletive] dead."

The Marine raised his rifle and fired into the insurgents head, at which point a companion said, "Well, he's dead now."

The camera then shows two Americans pointing weapons at another Iraqi insurgent lying motionless. But one of the Marines step back as the insurgent stretches out his hand, motioning that he is alive. The other Marine stands his ground, but neither of them fires.

When told by the pool reporter that the men were among those wounded in Friday's firefight, the Marine who fired the shot said, "I didn't know, sir. I didn't know."

"You can hear the tension in those Marines' voices. One is saying, 'He's faking it. He's faking it,'" Heyman said. "In a combat infantry soldier's training, he is always taught that his enemy is at his most dangerous when he is severely wounded."

A Marine in the same unit had been killed just a day earlier when he tended to the booby-trapped dead body of an insurgent.

NBC reported that the Marine seen shooting the Iraqi insurgent had himself been shot in the face the day before, but quickly returned to duty.

About a block away, a Marine was killed and five others wounded by a booby-trapped body they found in a house after a shootout with insurgents.

Amnesty International has noted reports that insurgents have used mosques as fighting positions, and have used white flags to lure Marines into ambushes.

The Marine who shot the insurgent has been withdrawn from the battlefield pending the results of an investigation, the U.S. military said.

These terrorists do not follow the rules of war. These terrorists kill innocent women by disemboweling them, cut of the heads of innocent truck drivers, detonate car bombs in crowds full of innocent people, and fly planes into buildings filled with innocent Americans.

It is my opinion that NOTHING should happen to this American Marine. He should be returned to his unit or be given an honorable discharge. We don't need our young men and women taking an extra second to decide if its right to shoot an enemy terrorist when that could mean that one of our soldiers could lose their life. The lives of our soldiers should be the single most important factor in this war against terrorism. The rights of terrorists can come second.
